Mid August Internet Finds

Apparently NASA had designed, and issued this Astronaut M1 Knife.  I didn't even know this existed, but it does and now there's a 50th anniversary version available. 

When other military knives did not meet NASA's criteria for the start of the Apollo program, the organization commissioned Case to create a knife to their exact specifications. The original Case Astronaut Knife M-1 was designed to be lightweight and featured a sharp cutting edge partnered with saw teeth on the back side. The blunt base of the knife's blade was capable of prying items from terrain. The handle was made of an ultra-lightweight synthetic which was found to withstand a hard impact without shattering. It also exuded no fumes, a feature that was critical to maintaining the purity of the air quality within the spacecraft.
The knife's most practical applications can be derived from its stowed location inside the ship's Command Module, where it resided with other essential gear as part of a survival pack. The items inside were to be used in the event the capsule splashed down off-course after re-entering Earth. In all, the Case Astronaut Knife M-1 traveled to the Moon and back nine times from 1968-1972 as part of NASA's Apollo program.
To celebrate man's very first steps on the Moon, Case has carefully crafted a reproduction featuring a 11.75 inch taper ground, high carbon stainless steel machete blade and a smooth white synthetic handle. The Case Astronaut Knife M-1 spans a total of 17 inches from base to blade tip and weighs 10.8 ounces. The knife is packaged in a two-piece box and features consecutive serialization on the blade. A special commemorative version will also be offered, with themed embellishing on the blade and a special wooden shadow box for display at home or in the office. An official certificate of authenticity and a Case Collectable medallion accompanies the commemorative.

Whiskey Decanter for Liquor Scotch Bourbon, $20 for this, which is a steal of a price for a 750ml glass decanter.  If you want one with two glass whiskey glasses same version for $26.  If you are serious about your whiskey and enjoy the process this is a steal.

The Mjolnir Wallet, on kickstarter and finishes up in 6 days (from this post).  It's got some cool features like having a small pocket for a lockpick or key, magnets for change and it doubles as a phone stand.  Not too shabby.  Of course its not a traditional leather wallet.

Symfonisk Sonos Table Lamp speaker from IKEA.  Looks like a lamp, is actually a pretty decent wireless speaker.  Saw it in person and was pretty surprised as it's also a light that's decent for a small room or a hallway to run music in. 

Lodge Seasoned Cast Iron 5 Piece Bundle. Who doesn't like cast iron skillets?  These are legit awesome (and super heavy).  I've got a large pan I use for various things.  5 piece on sale for $70.  Steal.

I am a big fan of purpose build tools, as you can tell, I stumbled upon this Everyman Grafton Pen.  I believe there are two versions, one being a mini-version.  I may end up buying it when I need another premium pen.  The click option on it means it'll be decent for duty use and it accepts premium refills widely available.  I'd recommend looking into a premium pen option either way.  You should have one if you do any sort of writing and you should always be writing.

RTIC is having one of their 70% off sales on drinkware, I have several of their various bottles, and this gallon jug which is awesome.  Would highly recommend these.

There's a new update on Wyzecam's and its pretty decent (it's app side).  If you don't have one (or like ten) of these, you are behind the curve.  They are $25 from amazon, you need a microsd card for local storage and recording, no cloud service fee or cloud storage (which is good).  There is a pan version that's pretty good, and Wyze has a bunch of other decent options like motion sensors, etc.  Would HIGHLY recommend looking into these.  Quick app movement response time, good quality, cheapest security type camera you'll find on the market that does everything it says it does.

Airhead AHDL-4 Bungee Dockline 4 Feet, $8.99 for 4 feet long with strength of 2,150 pounds.  This can be used for a myriad of things, like impromptu pullups/pushups, restraining things down and just general safety and climbing assistance things.  It's pretty cheap for what it does.

For legal reasons this is a joke sign...

Coldwave cold coffee, and/or any beverage, cooler.  You leave the insert in your freezer and when you want to immediately chill down a beverage (like making cold brew coffee immediately)  you just throw the ice pack into the container and blamo, ice cold wthout the water dilution. This is awesome.
